On The Road To PodCamp Ohio

Things are moving right along here in PodCamp World. We have two returning sponsors for PodCamp Ohio.

Welcome back Dr. Anonymous from the Dr. Anomymous Podcast, and Blubrry.com which provides services and tools to podcasters.

During our organizing meeting this past Wednesday evening, we discussed starting an official hash tag for this years podcamp. It’s official, our hash tag will be #pco09. I fyou are discussing PodCamp Ohio in Twitter, blogging, posting pictures or videos, please add this hash tag to make it easier for your fellow PodCamp Ohio enthusiasts to find you.

We had a few issues with the registration page and all the bugs should be worked out so feel free to register now if you haven’t done so. If you have any problems with our site, let us know either by sending us a message on Twitter or by emailing Angelo )(angelo[at]podcampohio.com).

We also discussed adding a tag line to our logo to help explain what PodCamp Ohio is about and decided to open it up to all you to come up with one. A tag line is a short simple state ment that would further explain what PodCamp Is or maybe a funny statement that will entice people to find out more. So we made it a contest. For the next two weeks, we will accept your submissions for a tag line for PodCamp Ohio. Right now the winner will receive bragging rights, but if anyone would care to throw in a prize, we’re not to proud to accept that.  Just leave your tag line submission in the comments below. You could even let your friends know and ask them to post a comment to “vote” in favor of your tag line. Heck, why not make a video of your tag line suggestion and post it to Viddler or You Tube, add the #pdo09 hash tag and leave a link in the comments.  You may as well have some fun with this right?

PodCamp Ohio Podcast Meeting Live Tonight

We’re going to start the PodCamp Ohio Podcast tonight, February 18 at 8pm. The podcast will repeat every Wednesday at 8pm up through June.

Tonight we’re going to go over the tasks that we need to accomplish by the end of the month and also discuss launching session registration. Other topics, suggestions and feedback are welcome.

Digital Media in a Social World Conference This Thursday and Friday at OSU

The Center for the Study and Teaching of Writing at The Ohio State University is hosting the Digital Media in a Social World Conference this Thursday and Friday! The free conference covers instructional and administrative technologies, social media and other new technology as it applies to our social world.

Planning on attending PodCamp Ohio 2? Registration is now open! You can sign up to attend podcamp by clicking on the Participate tab above. We are excited that so many of you have been asking about this and are looking forward to seeing everyone there. Planning Meeting Feb 12th

Join Angelo and me this Thursday, February 12th, 2009 at 9pm Eastern Time on The Doctor Anonymous Show for an update and discussion for everything about Podcamp Ohio 2 which will be June 20th, 2009 in Columbus.

At the end of last month, there was a meetup in Columbus and it looks like from this posting in the Google group, that lots of things were discussed like finding sponsors, sessions & attendee regustration, block hotel rooms, event swag, and viral marketing. If you were able to attend this meetup, I encourage you to call into the show and share your thoughts about the meeting. The call in number for the show is 646-716-9514. There is also a live chat room during the show.

And, this weekend coming up, in Cincinnati, there will be a meetup of the New Media Cincinnati group. And, according to this tweet, it looks like there are already 60 people signed up – and it’s Valentine’s Day. Sheesh! If you’re planning to attend the NMC meeting this weekend, I encourage you to call in and say hello. Hope to see everybody on Thursday night!

PodCamp Ohio at New Media Cincinnati Meetup this February

The February PodCamp Ohio Meetup will be at the New Media Cincinnati Meetup this Valentines Day. The meetup will be on Saturday, February 14, 2009 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at The Pub Rookwood Mews.

We will discuss session topics that attendees would like to see at the event. If possible, we will launch the attendee registration and the session application during the meetup.
